Lakes, Ponds and Rivers Water Restoration

Bring Oxygen Back to Vietnam’s Stressed Water Bodies

NICO systems support oxygen, circulation, odour management, and recovery in lakes, canals, reservoirs, and ponds.

NICO recirculates water through a nanobubble generator and returns oxygen-enriched water to selected areas.

Restoration Begins with Understanding the Water

Vietnam’s water bodies support drainage, irrigation, biodiversity, recreation, and community life. Runoff, wastewater, litter, sediment, and organic matter can produce algae, odours, fish stress, and oxygen-depleted zones.

NICO recirculates water through a nanobubble generator and returns oxygen-enriched water to selected areas. Combined with source control and monitoring, it can support recovery.

Common Water-Body Challenges

  • Eutrophication caused by excess nitrogen and phosphorus
  • Low dissolved oxygen from stagnation and decomposition
  • Stratified deeper water isolated from surface oxygen
  • Algal blooms and unstable day-night oxygen patterns
  • Organic sludge that continues to consume oxygen
  • Anaerobic odours and sulphide formation
  • Fish mortality after weather change or algae die-off
  • Continuing sewage, industrial, or agricultural inflows

How NICO Helps

  • Reach Oxygen-Deficient Zones: Nanobubble-enriched water can reach deeper areas, stagnant corners, and poorly circulated zones.
  • Support Aerobic Decomposition: Improved oxygen availability can support microorganisms that break down biodegradable organic material.
  • Reduce Anaerobic Odour Conditions: Maintaining aerobic conditions may reduce the formation of odour-producing zones.
  • Contribute to Algae Management: Circulation and oxygen can support algae management, but nutrient control remains essential.
  • Improve Aquatic Habitat: More stable dissolved oxygen can improve conditions for fish and other aerobic aquatic life.

A Structured Restoration Process

  • Measure area, depth, oxygen, temperature, pH, nutrients, turbidity, algae, and sediment.
  • Identify sewage, stormwater, industrial discharge, aquaculture effluent, and runoff.
  • Design the flow, gas source, intake and return points, power, access, and monitoring.
  • Install shore-based, skid-mounted, distributed, mobile, or suitably engineered floating equipment.
  • Operate against measured oxygen profiles and seasonal objectives.
  • Monitor results and optimise runtime and distribution.

Applications Across Vietnam

Potential settings include city lakes, village ponds, irrigation and aquaculture reservoirs, slow-moving canals, resort lagoons, landscape and golf-course ponds, industrial retention ponds, recreational lakes, and selected wetland projects.

Part of a Complete Strategy

Nanobubbles do not stop pollution entering the water. Sustainable recovery may also require wastewater interception, nutrient reduction, litter collection, sediment management, shoreline stabilisation, constructed wetlands, or hydraulic improvement.

Share bathymetry, water-quality data, inflow information, photographs, site access, power availability, fish populations, and restoration objectives. Large or irregular water bodies may benefit from a pilot zone before wider deployment.

Monitor Recovery Over Time

Useful indicators include dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, ORP, turbidity, chlorophyll, nitrogen, phosphorus, BOD, COD, sediment depth, odour observations, and fish events. Measurements should cover representative depths and locations.

Rainfall, heat, flooding, lake turnover, and changing inflows can affect results. Continuous sensors reveal trends, while laboratory sampling confirms nutrients and other parameters. Together, these records guide runtime, return-point placement, and further source-control measures.
