Discover how NICO is applying nanobubble engineering to productive industries, resilient communities and healthier water systems across New Zealand.
To revolutionize water management, empower agriculture, advance health and wellness, and drive the global adoption of nanobubble technology through strategic industry collaborations.
Building and leading a bold ecosystem of nanobubbles for a bluer planet.
The principles that shape
everything we build and deliver.
We continuously push the boundaries of science and engineering to develop next-generation nanobubble solutions.
We are committed to creating technologies that restore ecosystems, reduce resource consumption, and enable sustainable growth.
We believe meaningful impact is built through strong partnerships across industries, institutions, and communities.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards in performance, reliability, and execution, every system, every time.
We enable industries and communities with solutions that improve efficiency, outcomes, and long-term value.
We foster an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives, driving stronger innovation and better outcomes.
NICO began as a global innovation-led initiative with a clear belief: ultra-fine bubbles could change how gas is transferred into water. It has developed into a global platform creating nanobubble mixers, pump packages, gas systems, controls and monitoring-ready solutions.
Our approach starts with the water. We review chemistry, flow, temperature, solids, infrastructure and the required outcome. A dairy-effluent pond, salmon hatchery, orchard reservoir and municipal basin need different strategies.
Systems can introduce air for general oxygenation, oxygen for higher-demand duties, or ozone for engineered oxidation. Configurations range from retrofit mixers to integrated skids with pumping, gas supply, sensors and alarms.
New Zealand design also considers season, rainfall, access, coastal exposure, receiving waters and catchments. Where uncertainty is high, monitoring and a pilot can establish evidence before scale-up.
New Zealand’s industries, communities, and ecosystems are connected by water.
Nanobubble solutions support dairy, aquaculture, horticulture, wastewater, and freshwater applications.
Improved gas transfer can contribute to comprehensive treatment and restoration processes.
Sustainable production can help support healthier rivers, lakes, wetlands, and coastal waters.
We see growers managing irrigation water precisely, aquaculture operators gaining visibility over oxygen, farms strengthening treatment, councils improving assets, and catchment programmes using targeted oxygenation where oxygen is genuinely limiting.
Nanobubbles work best with monitoring, sound operations, nutrient management and source control. NICO aims to collaborate with operators, researchers, councils, iwi, hapū and delivery partners to evaluate applications responsibly.
